Day 1: Auckland - Paihia, Waitangi Treaty Grounds

Stop At: Paihia Harbour, Paihia New Zealand
After being picked up from central Auckland, set out on the around 4.5 hour journey to the Bay of Islands, traveling aboard a comfortable coach. Listen to your driver's commentary as you cross Auckland Harbor Bridge, and head out of the city through farming countryside and sub-tropical bush, stopping along the way for morning tea (own expense) before eventually reaching your first destination, Paihia,

Join a guided tour of Waitangi Treaty Grounds, the historic site where the Treaty of Waitangi (New Zealand's founding document) was signed. Learn more about New Zealand's history and Maori heritage as you explore the Treaty House, visit a traditional Maori meeting house, and marvel at the 35-meter-long hand-crafted Waka (canoe) which is still used today.

Day 2: Day trip from Paihia to Cape Reinga

Stop At: Cape Reinga Rd., Cape Reinga New Zealand
Make an early start and set out by coach on a full-day tour to Cape Reinga, the northernmost point of New Zealand. Along the way, stop to explore the ancient Puketi Kauri Forest, visit the famous Ninety Mile Beach, or sand-board down the massive dunes (optional). On arrival at Cape Reinga, walk out along the coastal cliffs to the Cape Reinga lighthouse and hear about the area's Maori legends as you gaze out across the meeting point of the Tasman and Pacific Oceans. A lunch of traditional fish and chips is included (vegetarian option available; please advise upon booking). Return to Paihia in time for dinner (own expense) in the early evening.

Day 3: Take a cruise to the famous 'hole in the rock' and then return to Auckland

Stop At: Bay of Islands i-SITE Visitor Information Centre, The Wharf 101 Marsden Road, Paihia 0252 New Zealand
Your morning begins with pickup from your hotel and a short transfer to Paihia Wharf to board your boat.

Set sail across the Bay of Islands, passing natural landmarks, following the old 'Cream Trip' route and heading to the Hole in the Rock.

Stop At: InterCity Sky City Bus Terminal, 102 Hobson St, Auckland CBD, Auckland 1010, New Zealand
After the cruise, you'll have time for a quick bite to eat (own expense) before boarding the coach back to Auckland. The coach will arrive into the Auckland Intercity depot on Hobson St at approximately 5.45pm, where your tour ends.
