Let us take you on a magical journey to two of New Zealand's world famous attractions! Enjoy guided tours of the Hobbiton Movie Set and the Waitomo Glowworm Caves on a full-day sightseeing tour from Auckland. During your guided tour of this amazing location, you'll see sights like Hobbit holes, the Mill and the Green Dragon Inn, and learn how farmland was transformed into a living, breathing piece of Middle-earth. At the world famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves, take a 45-minute guided tour through impressive underground caverns Begin your action packed day with a trip to the famous Hobbiton Movie Set for a guided tour of the largest green set in the world. In this beautiful natural setting, you'll see 44 hobbit holes, the Mill and double arch bridge, the Party Tree, and the Green Dragon Inn. Take a photo at the door of Bilbo's house, Bag End, looking out over the whole set to the hills in the distance. At the end of your tour, you'll be treated to a delicious Hobbiton themed buffet lunch, fit for a hobbit, at the Shire Party Marquee. At the world famous Waitomo Glowworm Caves, take a 45-minute guided tour through impressive underground caverns and learn how stalactites, stalagmites, and other limestone structures were formed over millions of years. Your tour includes a boat ride through the Glowworm Grotto - glide silently along an underground river as you gaze at the twinkling glow worms overhead. In the afternoon, travel back to Auckland on board our luxury coach, taking in the stunning scenery that New Zealand has to offer. You will arrive back into Auckland at approximately 7:00 pm. Availability: If the Waitomo Caves tour cannot operate, a free upgrade to the Ruakuri Cave will be provided subject to availability. If the Ruakuri upgrade is provided, the Waitomo Caves portion is not refundable.
