Chiang Mai Elephant Riding & Bamboo Rafting Tour (Shared)

This is a full-day excursion beginning at approximately 08:30. Your ride will pick you up from the hotel and take you to the northern part of Chiang Mai. The comfortable hour long drive will allow you to observe locals and appreciate the beautiful nearby landscape. Upon arrival, see an elephant bathing show. Watch elephants and their respective mahouts (guides) as they bathe in the waters of the Mae Taeng River. They're bathed, cleaned and prepared the day ahead. After the delightful bathing show, visitors can observe how elephants work in the timber industry. They push, drag and roll logs of wood from the direction of the mahouts. Witness their smart sense of direction, the gentleness in their actions, their agility and skill. Next, watch the elephants have fun! Some enjoy playing soccer. Other elephants are quite artistic and draw abstract paintings and objects they see nearby such as trees or flowers. After the elephant performances, enjoy a 30-40-minute ride atop an elephant as you climb lush green hills and pass beautiful scenery. This ride covers various terrains including a river crossing! After reaching your destination, you will be brought back to the camp by ox-ride. Forget all about cars and buses today because traditional Thai transportation is more fun! Once back at the camp, a delicious buffet meal will be served for all guests. The perfect break for an exciting day full of adventure. Relax in the camp, savor the food, and meet other like-minded travelers. Once you're filled up and rejuvenated, get ready for some tranquil bamboo rafting down the Mae Taeng River. During summer the river is quite shallow, making it ideal for leisurely rafting while enjoying the scenic views along the river. After rafting, visit an orchid and butterfly farm featuring colorful butterflies and exquisite orchids. This marks the end of the tour. You will be transported back to the hotel at approximately 16:00.
